How about one of the Ravenloft games? Strahd’s Possession or Stone Prophet. Both are “blobber” rpgs ala Eye of the Beholder but takes place within one of the other Dungeon and Dragons settings, namely Ravenloft. Not sure how scary they are but they _are_ supposed to be quite hard and chock full of vampires, mummies and other assorted spooky creatures!
