@Martli agree on the need for objectives in game. I’ve resorted to naming my save files with the objectives!
I also don’t remember being lost much as a kid, yet these days I’ve had to look online repeatedly to see how/what to do. Guess my old brain and reduced free time are taking their toll on my skillz.
