Reply To: Potential fix for odd joystick behaviour
I’ve played both CD and Remake on Linux via Steam using dosbox and wine. The dosbox worked pretty well with some minor tweaks (using linux binary). However, I was having a devil of a time getting the Remake to work with my 8bitdo controller on wine. After many trial and error attempts what ended up working best for me was disabling steam input and using an injected dll mod found at https://github.com/rdoeffinger/xwa_ddraw_d3d11 It not only fixes some 3d rendering issues but also has some input related fixes that solved my controller issues. Then I manually mapped the controller from in the game.
Now that it’s working, I’m playing on the TV with my kids watching. There’s something I never thought I’d be doing ha!
