If you’ve played Fallout, you’ll remember that “Tagging” a skill allows it to increase at a faster rate than other skills.

Although it is hidden in the UI, just due to some bad UI decisions, you can also tag skills in BaK to make them increase faster. Right-click on a character portrait to see the skill screen. Below each skill is a sword with a gem in the hilt. If you click on the gem, the gem colour will change to indicate that the skill is now tagged.

Now, when a tagged skill is used, it will increase faster than non-tagged skills. (And fwiw, tagging all of the skills or too many of them doesn’t work.)

Yes, it is also a good idea to remove your selected skills when speaking to a trainer, only selecting that particular skill you want to train. For example, if you speak to a lockpick trainer, prior to paying to have your skill boosted make sure that is the only skill selected at the time (This applies if you are grinding any skills as well).

If you tag too many skills then your chance to increase each additional skill decreases by X%. I am not sure what the exact percent decrease is.

Thanks so much for this! I figured that something like this is possible and found the skill screen but was not sure if the skills are active by default or not.
