Crusader: No Remorse

This is an interesting one. It’s from towards the end of the DOS era (1995). Published by Origins (and produced by Warren Spector!), it has loads of Easter eggs for other origin games (Wing Commander, System Shock). It has superbly interactive environments. A great soundtrack. It also has FMV cut scenes, like all the best games! Quite a lot going for it, then.
I loved this one and it’s sequel when I was younger. I second this pick.
This is an awesome game . The music is great. I belive its made on a modified version of the Ultima 8 engine.
Amazing game – the multiple options to hack, find passcodes, break through to approach the scenarios almost feels like a precursor to Deus Ex, only in an isometric view
The adventure elements in this game make it worth a play. I have some very happy memories of playing this as a kid, and I recently finished it after a 30 year break. Some of the later missions are fairly difficult, but it’s never unfair (unlike its sequel – No Regret – which is outright abusive).
I have this in the shelf, I found a big box budget release for cheaps in a charity store, it’s obviously patiently waiting for a month in DGC!
I also remember it looking very impressive in the magazines, and getting very good scores too.
You may add another to the list of DOS gamers who vote for this game.
From the moment I saw Crusader: No Remorse, I was awed, but also intimidated by the apparent complexity of the game. Never mustered the courage to sit down and play it.
Maybe if it gets featured here…

We have 2026 all scheduled, but I think we should pick this one for a 2027 month.
