    Hey everyone,

My first experience with DOS games must have been Wolfenstein 3D, as my dad was a huge fan. I vaguely remember going to the local Radio Shack with him and getting “Lemmings” for our computer at the time, no idea what kind of PC it was.

Eventually, I branched into console games: Nintendo (Super Mario 3), Final Fantasy 6 (Final Fantasy 3 in the U.S.), Final Fantasy 4/2. We had Might and Magic 2: Gates to Another World on the Sega, Might and Magic 3: Isles of Terra on the SNES, and King’s Quest on our home PC.

I think it was around 1995 when we first got AOL Online and also subscribed to the Prodigy online service. I didn’t have the opportunity to get online much as it tied up the phone line sadly.

The Capital region got broadband cable internet fairly early, probably around 1997. I remember playing Diablo 1 and Starcraft online extensively. Eventually getting into Faldon and The Fourth Coming prior to getting Ultima Online.

Once we got Ultima Online in 1998 we were hooked for years, right up until around 2003 when Age of Shadows released. At that point the game was changing too much from the game we wanted to play.

This site is wonderful, VGA 256 is great and sent me a link to this site. He maintains the Dimwood.net, which has a host of resources for Betrayal at Krondor, this month’s game.

    Hi! Welcome 🙂

The wonderful memories of the Big Box computer games on the shelf at the store!

Great history of gaming there, do you have any titles you return to today?
