I’m Alyssa, a 38-year-old from Tennessee.

I grew up playing DOS games from a young age. My first favorites were Commander Keen, Jazz Jackrabbit, and Wolfenstein. I also loved Conquests of the Longbow and Graham Cluley’s Humbug, but they went over my head, so I didn’t beat them until later on as an adult. I mostly just spent time exploring but not accomplishing anything in them when I was a kid.

I still have a major love for DOS games and retro games in general, and I revisit them often.

When I’m not playing old games, I’m usually reading horror books or playing with my dog.

I recently played Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? and Hugo’s House of Horrors! Carmen Sandiego was a lot of fun. Hugo was… not as good as I remembered, but still worth playing for nostalgia’s sake.

I forgot to mention the King’s Quest series as well. Those were big favorites, of course. A couple of months ago, I replayed KQVII, which I know can be divisive but remains my favorite.

Eyyy KQ7 is my favourite too, although I can see KQ6 is also very good and I have a soft spot for KQ3 even though it’s brutal.

I always love hearing how people found us by the way, since we don’t really advertise or anything and don’t have a large social media presence!
