Greetings from Pennsylvania. I found your community a while back via Mastodon but only recently started listening to the podcast, and I am hooked. Working my way backwards and making sure to listen to the discussions around some of my favorites. I grew up gaming, a hobby I continue to this day and consider a big part of who I am. I have very fond memories of playing games (mostly shareware) on the family DOS 486. Some of my favorite games on the platform are:
– Doom (I still play regularly, but using source ports)
– Commander Keen
– Descent
– Hocus Pocus
– Crystal Caves
– Inherit the Earth: Quest for the Orb
– Sierra edutainment adventure games (Island of Dr Brain, EcoQuest, etc.)
Looking forward to what you all have planned for the next few months. I played through a few ZZT worlds in preparation for this month’s episode. I used to follow that community quite a bit in the late 90s after getting a copy of it on a PC Gamer demo disk. I can’t promise I will be super active on the forum, but I thought I would at least stop in and say hello. Thank you for the very entertaining show and keeping the love of this era of gaming alive.
