Hi, I just discovered your podcast a few hours ago – I started with the episode for Machiavelli the Prince. I bought this game in 1996 or 1997. I remember it was on a discount rack at CompUSA. Bought it and loved it, and was surprised to hear a podcast episode about it.

Anyway… I started gaming on an Atari 2600 and upgraded to a Commodore 64 around 1986. I also owned a NES with ROB the robot. I didn’t get into DOS PCs until 1994 because I wanted a system that could run some of the Tradewars 2002 helper programs (IYKYK).

I’ve always been into retro, even playing our Atari into the 90s and using a C64 or C128 as my daily driver until 94. I still have my Commodore gear, along with my (broken) NES, Playstation, N64, and Gameboy Color

Is something really retro if you never actually stopped using it since it was new?
One of the great philosophical questions…

    Thanks!

    Interesting perspective on retro 🙂

I’d probably have our old 2600 if my dad hadn’t have sold it. We owned Q*Bert’s Qubes, which is a rare title – and I think he ended getting over $200 for all our Atari gear in the late 90s.

I’m catching up on the backlog of podcasts. The Heretic + Hexen Collection is $3 on GOG, and I’ll probably pick it up after listening to the Heretic episode.
