Oh God, I missed so much already, really wished I found you guys sooner. Anyway, here’s my little introduction.

I’m from the Netherlands, born in 1983 and the first computer we had at home was a 286, it came with a few really old games which I can’t remember anymore. What I do remember is the 486dx2-66 we got after that with that beautiful and inviting “turbo” button on the front. It came preloaded with some obscure games and Prince op Persia 1. I played the shit out of that game and later went to friends houses with a canister of floppy disks to copy all their games. I’ve played a lot old games, always tinkering with the autoexec.bat and config.sys files to get games to run.
Lots of fun, lots of memories.

Anyway, I discovered the Dos Game Club when I was searching for the theme song of Space Quest on Spotify and I’m working my way through the backlog of all the episodes. I really wish I could have been part of some of these, but can’t time-travel IRL, so I’m joining up now. I might probably not be the most active member perhaps, but that doesn’t change my love for the golden oldies of DOS, talking about them and maybe discover a few new gems.

    Kind regards.

Welcome aboard! I only joined this year myself. I like to think we’re still in the golden age of this club.

Ah yes, that tantalizing turbo button! None of us realised it was a slow down button in disguise.
