    Hi all!

Just thought I’d post a quick introduction. I found this podcast only a couple of months ago, and have been doing something of a marathon, catching up on all the old episodes. I’m really enjoying it. There’s a lot of retro gaming content on the internet these days, but very little that focuses exclusively on DOS games. It’s great stuff.

I started playing DOS games in the early 90s. My friends had 286 and 386 computers, and my family bought a 486 DX2 in 1993, which was a beast of a PC for the time. Before this, our family computer was an outdated Commodore from the 80s, so it was a massive upgrade. Games like Commander Keen, Wolfenstein 3D, Prince of Persia, and Duke Nukem (the original 2D platformer version) were among the first games I played.

I still play DOS games today, but through emulators like DOS Box rather than actual period hardware. In particular, I use the eXoDOS collection, which contains over 7,000 pre-configured DOS games. If you haven’t tried it yet (and have enough drive space), I’d definitely recommend it.

Anyway, thanks again for all your hard work creating this site and the podcast! Wishing you all the best.

    Hi from across the pond!
Yes, we’ve noticed that there is precious little DOS specific content out there, especially in the podcast space.
    Hope to see you around!
