How is it vs Elite Plus?

I’m a teeny tiny bit late to the party, but how does Elite II compare to Elite Plus? I saw someone playing the Elite Dangerous series, so now I want to get into the DOS versions. I’ll skip the 1987 original (due to meager graphics/sound) but am curious about the other two. Thanks.

Oh, they are VERY different games. Elite II is a VASTLY more expansive, and I feel a far better game. More ships, systems, toys, mission types, everything.

Thanks for the details! I also heard that Plus is a pain to get working at the right speed, so I think I’ll just go with II and see how it goes. Looks like there are still some problems here, but hopefully a few Ctrl-F11/F12’s will help regulate things. Thanx!
