hello! my name is daniel (he/any), but i use the handle quasiotter everywhere.
i’m already part of two game clubs (the secret lives of games, playing one+ michael brough games monthly) and a furry visual novel group. i didn’t think i was actually gonna join this due to these clubs PLUS the podcasts i already listen to PLUS i already have a spreadsheet of games to play… but i listened to the first Doom episode (and a few more since then) and was very impressed with the discussions.
i’m not specifically interested in DOS or even retro games, i just like whatever seems delightful! i prefer games that are simple, real-time, single-player, and very importantly, visually attractive to my taste. i have too many “favourite” games, but the ones i play the most are Quake & Doom (especially the community maps; i’ve made about a dozen of the former), and UFO 50.
i’m definitely going to be participating on-and-off because i’m very particular about how i spend my time. i’m signing up because of ZZT, specifically, but may join for others. i do also like learning about strange games i’ll never play myself, too.
i’m born in 1988, an art instructor, lgbtq+, live in oregon (usa), i have at least three fursonas, and i am fascinated by humans despite being a very solitary mammal.
