This drama came on cassette tape, for the floppy versions, and a separate CD on the CD version.

It has all the backstory for the game, I didn’t really want to listen to it at the time, but later on I’ve done so multiple times:

Very cool, this seems really well produced. I’ll listen to it in full at work. Thanks for the link!

Yeah I strongly recommend listening to this before playing the game. I wouldn’t say it’s essential to understanding it but it does add a bit and it’s a short, fun listen anyway

Thanks for this. Loom’s intro is heavy on the mystery, so I appreciate more backstory going into it.

My budget copy of Loom I bought in 1995 did not include the cassette, so I only listened to it years and years afterwards from YouTube.

I wonder how I’d felt back in the day about listening to it, I’m not sure I had enough English skills and patience at the time! I was fine with reading the game’s text itself at my own pace. It might have been really cool to listen to the cassette first.

On the other hand, I do think the game works just fine without the audio drama intro.
