While far from the first BattleTech game to make it onto computers, the MechWarrior 2 series arguably had the biggest impact in the days of DOS (in this case 1995) with its polygonal graphics, tactical vehicle simulation and a solid soundtrack.
The released game was a far cry from original concepts, with virtually the whole game and dev team overhauled. This eventually led to a game selling 500k copies in the next three months, as well as an expansion pack and standalone prequel.
Anything else can wait for a future podcast 😉

		I’m in!
It’s been a while since our last simulation game, let alone combat simulation.

I’ve played a good bunch of the Mercenaries prequel to this game. It was a pretty fun to play over LAN. Also played the campaign up to a point where I couldn’t progress due to a crash bug. Great stuff regardless.

Oh man! This is the game I asked my parents for when I wasn’t allowed to play Doom! I sunk way too many hours into this… I would love to revisit it in the club!
