The name sounded really familiar and it hit me where from. I scanned a load of my game boxes in for Mobygames back in the late 90s, one of which was an Israeli copy of Betrayal At Krondor that I picked up in a trade with a guy from Israel on gameTZ.com (although I’m sure it was called something else back then).

Anyway, at some point after I started getting contacted randomly every few years from people saying that one of the developers had every version of the game except this one and asking if I’d send it to him. I’m sure it was Neil that they wanted me to send it to. It always seemed a bit strange coming from a third party like that and an oddity like that game is a bit of a reminder of all the time I spent trading back before the likes of Ebay took off so I always declined. Not to mention, I didn’t get a collection by giving games away. The last time anyone asked me was years ago so hopefully he’s found a copy elsewhere by now. You’ll have to ask anyway Martijn if you line up a chat.

That’s a wild story. Neil really is passionate about Krondor, even today.

IIRC gametz.com used to be UGTZ.com – “Used Game Trading Zone”. I used to be a regular there a long, long time ago 🙂
