Just like with Toonstruck, Hit the Road is making me go down a lagomorph hole and (a) listening to lots of game (history) podcasts for Sam & Max and (b) get really excited about adventure games in general. This is a thread about (a) and I’ll post links to episodes of different podcasts and what was cool about them. Feel free to join in!

First off, let’s focus on the music! Super Marcato Bros has an episode on it here: https://www.supermarcatobros.com/podcast/2019/8/25/episode-383-sam-amp-max-hit-the-road?rq=hit%20the%20road

These guys have their music chops to them and they have also interviewed at least Peter McConnell. I like how they talk about the style of music in context, where the inspiration has come from. They here and there contrast the Sound Canvas version (which is apparently the canonical version) with the Sound Blaster version (which is the nostalgic one for them as players). But perhaps the most I appreciated their thoughts about how the music supports the comedy in the game!
