So we’ve done cricket games, golf games, and will soon do pool/snooker. May I suggest Rugby for the next sports based game? I’ve played a lot of rugby union and league games, but mostly on consoles and Windows XP, not DOS.
What prompted this was dusting off my old game console collection, which includes a copy of ‘ARL 96’ for the Sega MegaDrive. I remember a mate of mine lending me his copy for PC and after a bit of digging, turns out it runs on DOS!
From a quick google, some other games include Jonah Lomu Rugby (this was a big hit on the PS1), Rugby World Cup 95 (1995 was an all round awful World Cup, stupid food poisoning), Super League Pro Rugby 1996, and Wembley Rugby League. I’m sure there’s more…
Now the astute-eyed will notice I’ve included both Rugby Union and Rugby League games in here. Looks like league games were more common back in the 90s, probably because union wasn’t a professional sport until ’96, but I reckon we make the rules so they cover both Union and League.
