Solar Winds

I’d like to suggest Solar Winds (I suspect you could do both parts as one episode as the games are very similar. I found this the second game in my stack of PC disks (and suspect the first game is in the stack that ended up at my brother’s house as that’s the one I have faint memories of playing as a kid)
It’s top down space game, the whole game plays like the combat of Starcon without any gravity. You get missions and are rewarded with the resources you need to upgrade your ship and work your way though the missions. Though if you can find enemies you could grind up some more resources but outside the missions they are hard to find.
I’ve played the second game more recently and it’s got a quite linear progression, it could have had so much more space exploration and what not but I enjoyed my time with the second game and wouldn’t mind revisiting the first.
Being a huge Star Control 2 fan and also playing a lot of these shareware episodes, I was always curious about Solar Winds but only saw it very very briefly and didn’t play it myself. Would be cool to play in the club!
This is a lovely little game, and I really like the first (shareware) episode. It’s short, and would be very straightforward for an ‘easy’ podcast episode.
