    Based on recent discussions, I believe this is a great pick for the never-ending “space games theme”!

    Haha indeed! Also known as “Overlord” in the USA. Looking forward to this one to see the roots of the space-themed 4X genre. Is this the first of its kind??

    Well, there was Reach for the Stars in 1983… probably others as well. You could argue Empire (–> 1977), which we discussed here, is “4X”.

    One way or the other, all this pre-dates the “4X” term having been coined.
