Universal Hint System

I’ll just leave it here if you need a little push (and it’s a godsend with the Moon Logic puzzles of this game)

I love UHS!
It’s helped me through a few games for the club, and it barely feels like cheating at all!
Oh this is perfect. The perfect amount of getting unstuck without ruining anything.

Yeah, UHS is a gem. So much better than a straight-up walkthrough.
Thank you for this! Definitely got me through some frustrating moments without dumping anvils on my head, so to speak.
This thread was a great subtle hint in itself! I’ve looked up two things so far and especially in the first instance, I had the right idea (I might’ve remembered the solution from a screenshot in the magazine, come to think of it) but it was a bit of a pixel hunting situation.
In the other case as well I had the right idea, but the hints are such subtle nudges that I’m not kicking myself over looking it up, unlike with a “traditional” walkthrough. This is great stuff!
I ended up looking up a couple of more things in Nefarious’ castle. They were of the pixel hunting variety, or otherwise something not telegraphed that well.
I probably would’ve stumbled across the solutions over a few days of wandering around in the game, but I think I’ll take this approach over that, this time around!
UHS is cool! I used the DOS version more than two decades ago, with “I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream”. That’s one game I wouldn’t want to play without a hint file, as it’s quite long (5 separate sections + finale), and in each section there are multiple ways to “die” (fail and have to start over). Not my preferred way of playing point-n-click adventures. 😐
Having beaten Toonstruck hint-free, I took the liberty to browse the UHS, and found that there are a couple of mini-puzzles that one misses by not getting recaptured twice in the castle, and there is a way to finish the game without leaving Snout knocked-out on the floor. 😛
