Yes, it is also a good idea to remove your selected skills when speaking to a trainer, only selecting that particular skill you want to train. For example, if you speak to a lockpick trainer, prior to paying to have your skill boosted make sure that is the only skill selected at the time (This applies if you are grinding any skills as well).

If you tag too many skills then your chance to increase each additional skill decreases by X%. I am not sure what the exact percent decrease is.

Thank you for making me aware of potential bugs,

I don’t think GOG uses “scratched” discs however, that would be a huge liability for them from the publisher. Long story short, I don’t think Microsoft (Who owns Sierra now after incorporating Activision) would be happy with that.

    Interesting,

In my game I defeated all the Rusalkis in chapter 1. I’m not sure if that had anything to do with it. I visited the temple, encountered the Rusalki, and had the weedwalker shoes in the inventory of all my characters prior to attempting the quest.

I may have never encountered the last Rusalki, I’m really not entirely sure. I think you need to complete all of the encounters prior to boarding the ship. I then attempted to complete the quest in chapters 2 and 3.

I just wanted to let you know the specific circumstances that has so far resulted in the inability to complete the quest.

    A) I’ve explored the entirety of Dimwood and completed Craig’s quest involving the Pantathians.

    B) It is possible that my stealth was too high, however I tried after removing the “Weedwalker” shoes as well. It could be the case that my stealth was still too high after that since this was done in Chapter 3.

*I have already visited the woman in Darkmoor who you can only speak to at night.

*I will attempt to speak to Haphra again. I did pay her the 50 sovereigns required to speak to her.

I’m interested to know the reason why you’ve never completed the Rusalki quest. This is the first time I’ve actually played Betrayal at Krondor, I loved the Sierra King’s Quest games, but I did play a lot of Wizardry and Might and Magic.

I even checked with both Gemini and ChatGPT, Gemini said there is a known script issue with the game where the ship in Silden will get stuck. Although, I don’t trust Gemini regarding this game because it has been terribly inaccurate thus far.

    Edit:

I added a few photos, I have spoken with the Darkmoor woman and Haphra again. As you can see, all of my character’s skills are displayed. It could be an issue where my stealth skill is too high. I have walked up and down Rusalki road hundreds of times at day and at night. I have gotten 0 encounters, as I am fairly sure I have defeated all the Rusalki (I should have been keeping count, but this was back in Chapter 1).

I have already defeated the Dimwood Rusalki as well. I just verified that during the day and at night to ensure I didn’t miss the encounter. Nothing! 🙁

It can take quite awhile to get to Krondor as the entire map is available in Chapter 1. I think it took me ~40 hours to get to Krondor.
