A Game of Strategy (1990 shareware by Henrik Hoexbroe)

This is a fun DOS game based on the board game Stratego.
The author said the shareware version can’t be registered and there is no difference in the shareware or registered versions as far as game play or features.
Nevertheless I’ve always wanted to change the nag screens that indicate it’s unregistered (beginning) and the call to register (end).
Can this game be disassembled to discover how to modify it to say it’s registered, and perhaps to discover other secrets?
I would not have the knowledge to do that.
PS – I just today asked the author if he would be willing to donate his source code for further development. I’ve communicated with him a few times (as recently as last year).
