Already excited!

I know it’s over a year away, but I’m already looking forward to replaying, and hearing what y’all think of, the (IMHO) best DOS game ever made.
I’ve started and stopped this game several times over the years. Perhaps this will finally give me the swift kick I need to stick with it.
This is one of the only CRPGs I’ve replayed multiple times, so I clearly am a fan of this one. It’ll be fun to revisit it with everyone else when the time comes!
I’ve always felt like the old Fallout games are just a touch opaque compared to games that would come out the next year like Baldur’s Gate. A lot of it comes down to the interface, where it’s clear what the game wants you to do, but it’s not obvious how the UI will allow you to do it. It’s also from those early days of quest journals, when they would provide SOME useful information, but never quite enough.
Still a real triumph of atmosphere and aesthetic though, and really emphasizes choice well.
Oh, such great memories of this one. Nowadays, post-apocalyptica feels very overdone to me, but at the time I was just blown away by the setting and world-building. Can’t wait to fire it up again!
Never gave the first 2 Fallout games proper time, although I’ve played plenty of 3, NV and 4… Could be a good moment to give it finally a good try.
Oh boy, now that I have period correct hardware ready to go – complete with a ball mouse … I have to set Fallout up on that. Exciting indeed!
Playing a game on the hardware it was made for – especially RPGs – really does change the experience.
Just get ready to open up that mouse every day to clean out all the dirt!
