I would higly suggest an episode centered on Half Life by Valve in 1998.
this shooter changed everything: as you said in Duke Nukem 3D episode, there was a huge change from a fast-packed shooter to a more slow-paced & story based action game.
Not mentioning the drammatically changes in HUD, in the variety of locations and enemies, and.. the unforgettable “playable intro” of the moving train descenting the depth of Black Mesa..
what do you think?
Well. This is _DOS_ Game Club. I would love to play Half-Life, but it’s entirely OT 😉
yeah I realized soon after I posted the new thread, sorry for that.
After listening your very interesting podcast of the Duke,I crushed into sweet memories of shooters, and HL in particular..
We thought, maybe if we bundle HL with a Win95 image, it would technically become a DOS game.
Since the topic is already here, I will post something and then…
Half-Life speed running on retro PC
Rebuilding a 1998 PC just to play Half-Life
A modder strung together eight 3dfx Voodoo 2 GPUs to play Half-Life
