Boy, that installer is cool! Why didn’t something like that stay the norm? Instead we got thousands or Windows games, all using one of three installer systems, all looking exactly alike. Or steam, where we don’t see the installation at all.

I mean, come on! The first thing the installer does is ask you for you sound hardware so it can talk to you during the installation.

And it’s already setting the theme for the game, even running the installer already made me want to play!

The C&C installer is cooler than some actual games, haha 😀

The installer was such a highlight – I’m disappointed as well that they didn’t catch on! The Windows 95 versions had bland InstallShield setups instead and I really missed the atmosphere of the DOS installer.

Great podcast, by the way – it kept me company on a three-hour drive yesterday and I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on more games 🙂
