2 reviews for this month, both liking the game more than I did last time I played it back in 2009. I remember it getting monotonous quite quickly personally, it’s probably one to be played in small doses I expect which is good news I suppose when we have a whole month to get through it all. Curious to dip back in to it again anyway:-

The Finnish Pelit magazine gave it a nice 87 points, complimenting the mood and criticizing repetitivness.

They give a full paragraph to moddability. The mouse aiming is sort of funnily described as controlling the upper and lower body separately. Speaks to its innovativness.

It was amazing to me how the upper body aimed separately from the lower body. Something I wished for as I was doing some mod and game art. I think Quake 3 was probably the first FPS with non-skeletal animation to go down this path. Of course then one must take care to hide the seams or it can look awkward. Though considering the low resolutions of the era they may not have given it much thought. We were usually just happy to see an accurate reflection of the equipped weapon.
