Doesn’t seem like Pandora Directive got a lot of coverage in the UK mags as I can only find the one review for this month. This review will be what persuaded me to buy it at the time:-

That opinion surprised me – I don’t think Countdown is usually that well regarded. Fairly sure I played it years back (quite possibly quickly with a walkthrough) and I honestly don’t remember a thing about it now. I think it was kind of similar to Martian Memorandum.

Yeah Pandora Directive didn’t get as much coverage as it should’ve. I feel like most reviews I came across (US/Aus/UK) leaned positive.

However, one of the most negative ones I stumbled upon was in the UK, via PC Format. IMO they were way too critical of it. Almost seemed like the writer wasn’t even an adventure fan (surprising since PCF was usually pretty well-balanced, moreso than PC Gamer UK at the time):

I actually tried Countdown before the Tex Murphy games just a month or two ago. It’s as painful as ’80’s Sierra adventures. The whole game is on a timer, and there are a few parts that require timing with a death penalty for being off just a bit. There are guards in the first part of the game that will end the game as soon as they see you — even if they’re off-screen! I’m even more afraid of Amazon: Guardians of Eden now.
