I’m still working my way through the backlog of episodes, and thoroughly enjoying them. I was listening to the “Six Small Games” episode today, which made me wonder…
How about an episode on games for machines that ran MS-DOS (or other DOS implementations), but weren’t PC-compatible?
I was originally thinking about early machines like the Tandy 2000, DEC Rainbow, Sanyo MBC-550, Mindset, Apricot PC and so on. These all had different graphics hardware, and some had quite impressive capabilities. There’s certainly Vyper for the Mindset, and Infocom games for many of them, but what else is out there?
But then there’s the much longer-lived NEC PC-98 series, which has a huge games catalogue…
