I played this Jordan Mechner game many years after it was originally released. But even that is a while back. I think the game was not very succesful. Im not sure I can honestly say the game is great, but i can say I immensely enjoyed it. Its has the rotoscoping ofprince of persia taken to a new level. It also has some weird real time puzzles in a game that is sort of myst like in some was.i think the overall atmosphere is the stand out of this game. As well as it being hugely unique and ambitious. I think tho,fair warming, the game is a also quite akward to play, now, but probably even then. I checked that it was released for dos in 97, even tho it was also released for Windows. I think its on steam also.
