TFTC ports Tie Fighter to the X-wing Alliance engine with fan upgrades.

I’m probably going to play the first mission in DOS then try TFTC for the remainder of the game.

Kind of wild the original Tie Fighter engine went on to be used for Dark Forces and even evolved into XvT and XWA.

I think the Jedi Engine was pretty much build from the ground up by LucasArts themselves.

Tie Fighter and the tech was built by Totally Games and kept separate. I am sure they all used iMuse for the music and probably some more shared tech. But not the whole engine.

The TFTC is indeed wonderful, but for me? 1995 CD-ROM all the way.

If you like the Tie Fighter Total conversion, I humbly suggest to also try out the X-Wing counterpart XWVM.

It has VR support, which will allow you to experience the original missions (plus expansion packs) in a mind-blowingly immersive way.

    Enjoy!
