I’ve played quite a lot of Civ 1, a bot of Civ 2, and almost none of later version. I don’t know how I’ve managed to learn how to play Civ 1 as a kid, not having a manual nor understanding English well.
I love simplicity of Civ 1, tge only thing that I may be missing is a notion of fire power from Civ 2, so there’s less risk of a battleship getting destroyed by a trireme. 🙂
