In May we played Syndicate, the 1993 tactical shooter game by Bullfrog. Set in a futuristic dystopian cyberpunk world where governments have been replaced by corporations, it's quite a bit grittier than many of Bullfrog's other titles. But is it fun? Listen to find out!

Joining host Martijn ("Tijn") for this episode are Rob ("Spoonboy") and retro gaming YouTuber Kim Justice. Sadly our trusty co-host Florian ("rnlf") couldn't join us for this one, but we did receive a voice messages by Canageek, so thanks for that!

I enjoyed the podcast I never played syndicate but after hearing the podcast I will put it on my play list. Not sure when I will get to it. Right now I’m doing a Fallout series play through on PC, finished Fallout 1 and 2 on Fallout 3 and I have learned my mouse and keyboard skills are not good anymore, playing console games with a controller has diminished my skills with mouse and keyboard.

I didn’t play Syndicate back in the day, but I did see it over the shoulder at a friend’s friend place (where I also saw Star Control II the first time – now that’s a game I’ve played, but another story) … it was pretty darn cool. I also remember my classmates having some fun “playground stories” about the persuadertron. I’m a bit sad I missed the opportunity to grab the game from as it’s currently not available anymore.

How did I not comment on the podcast itself? Great episode as usual, but extra great with Kim Justice guesting. Thanks to everyone involved!

And now they’re back in GOG catalog, and free until 3rd of September:
