So after reading this page

it said that the aim of the game was everyone played the game and wrote a review.

So how dose one play the current games please?

With each game there are two challenges, one is getting the game and the other is deciding how to run it.

Where possible we recommend people purchase the game from sites like gog.com or similar, however there are usually copies all over the internet due to the extreme age of the games.

As for running the games, most people emulate them in something like DosBox, but this is a part of the fun of the club, working out how to get the game running.

Usually in each forum post for the game people comment on how they got it running (if it does not simply run automatically).

[For Example, this month is ‘Abuse’ and Tijn has posted how to get it running well https://www.dosgameclub.com/forums/topic/playing-this-in-dosbox/ ]

But we have a number of forum members who have period accurate hardware who will run up the original floppy disk of the game and run it on real hardware for the true experience!

briefly looking at gog.com the games look fairly modern to me and not DOS compatible IMHO. I was kind of hopping to get them onto 3.5 floppy by way of purchase from the likes of ebay or downloading them, then writhing to disk and installing them onto my DOS 6.22 OS

You will be able to find ‘copies’ online which you can put onto a 3.5″ disk.

But also many of the GOG releases are the original Floppy files, but bundled with dosbox, so you can copy over the raw game files and still execute them on real hardware.

I’m not sure of a way to tell before hand however which games are simply packaged and which are rebuilt.

You are better off searching for your game on google and grabbing an.. ‘archived’ copy for the original files.

Yeah, we don’t provide the games, that’s something you’ll have to do on your own. We’re just a club where the games are discussed.

It’s similar in concept to a book club. The typically don’t provide the books either.
