    I also support the suggestion of (any) roguelike and perhaps original Rogue in particular. I’ve returned to it regularly for … I guess about 35 years by now and still never finished it.

    I’m testing/alternating between FreeDOS 1.4 and others (DR-DOS, SvarDOS) in VirtualBox and of course DOSbox. Just today (maybe late in the game here) I discovered there is and updated project DOSbox Staging forked from DOSbox that I’ve just started trying. Seems to work great so far!
