A few games that have a special place in my memory:
I loved command & conquer and C&C red alert. I also handpicked this episode. I agree that the pathfinding in the game is not great. But back in the day when I saw this, with the music and being able to lead your troops, it got me hooked.
Warcraft II is another one. I think this is already on windows. the first game I played not so much.
Of course I used to play a lot of doom and duke nukem. I had shareware versions that felt like a whole game to me.
Later I played the quake shareware a lot.
a bit earlier even, I remember playing a flight sim called ‘Retaliator’. I think I played it on a 2×86 machine.
On this machine I also played a lot wolfenstein: spear of destiny, indy 500 from papyrus, jill from the jungle, commander keen, grand prix circuit and cycles from accolade. When summing up these old games, I remember it felt magical playing and discovering all this,…
I think the 2×86 also had a game called ‘jimmy white snooker’. I used to play this a lot with my dad.
Oh, other games that come to my mind that I played a lot: golden axe, Lakers vs Celtics, Sim City and sim city 2000, discworld, mad dog, civilization,..
