A top-down shooter released in 1994 as Freeware, often on compilation disks.

With guns, chainsaws and plenty of enemies it’s a bloodbath.

    Also supports split screen multiplayer.

C-Dogs was its successor releasedi n 1997 with huge improvements all around.

The source was released for both and further parties have developed an Android version and new windows versions too; https://cxong.github.io/cdogs-sdl/index.html

The SDL version is actually actively maintained too.

and it has a neat feature

“One of the unusual features is that it can read wolfenstein 3d data, so if you have that installed via steam or gog, you can play through that whole game but overhead instead of first person”

This is definitely a great game! It has a great indie look and it’s lots of fun. Split-screen multiplayer is a great thing. I’ve had lots of fun with this one playing with a friend
