I think this is the game that sparked the whole pinball obsession that happened in the 90s. Originally released for the Amiga in 1992, it was ported to DOS in 1993. Developed by Digital Illusions.

Tables include Ignition, Steel Wheel, Beat Box and Nightmare.

Is it any good? Please share your thoughts 🙂

There’s also a sequel released in 1995, which includes: Neptune, Safari, Revenge of the Robot Warriors & Stall Turn.

It’s really good for its time, but it highlights a major issue in pinball games of this era: SCROLLING.

Maybe it’s just me who has this issue, but I find it quite difficult to hit targets that I can’t see.

I first played this game when visiting the family of my mother’s friend, they had an Amiga and we played the Steel Wheels table. It was so cool. I might have read about the game from a magazine before that.

I remember having the demo for DOS which had the Ignition table, and playing that quite a bit. Then I got Fantasies which amazed me for playing MODs through the speaker, and later I got Dreams as well, which does the same thing. Very impressive!

The sounds coming crackling through the PC speaker is very nostalgic to me!
