I learned about this game because it was one of the few games available on Linux besides tux cart and other ones.

Never played the DOS version until now. Seems pretty similar.

I did the same trick as @pana79 ! The correct car to buy is the “1949 Chevrolet 2dr Styleline. Auto. Basic transportation. $475”. Take out the engine, front and right bumper, the roof and the transmission. I could sold it at $20000 (this worked after 30 years dormant in my memory!).

I remember the floppy disk version. It was six disks of 3.5” (1.44Mb each). Just some more data than previous The Secret of Monkey Island (8 disks of 5.25” on double density). I think DOTT needed a hard disk to install it though.
